Doodiehead's Hunter's Guide

Now that I'm closing in on 60 with my hunter, I thought I'd start writing about some of the things I've learned along the way as a resource for others, and to demonstrate the site's "book" functionality, as well.

I'll add in more chapters gradually.

Site Theme

One of the nice things about the site is that you can choose how you want it to look by picking a "theme" in the "My account" link on the left.

The benefit of themes is the flexibility of choice. If, for example, I create a great WoW-inspired theme, it may not be the look you want to see while you're at work checking on guild news.

My questions for you are:

  1. Should I spend the time & effort to create a WoW-based theme and set it as the default? It'd take me a bit of time, but I kind of want to do it so that we have something that we can call our own, and this theme's a bit.... plain.
  2. Are there any on the drupal site that you guys want me to install? ( http://drupal.org/project/Themes )

Blizzard releases beta version of the Armory

Blizzard has released a new section on their website called the Armory.

You're able to view your character profiles and guilds online! So far you can search for your characters but I was unable to view any data. It's cool to see them start implementing new ways to view your WoW info from the web, I can't wait until it's finished.

Site went live

I've added in calendaring now :) You can see the calendar over on the right side. This should be a great way for us to schedule instances!

Pig > Dragon

I'm actually just testing to see how a picture upload works... so here's a picture of HamSandwich & Doodiehead killing a drake :)

I had just landed at Morgan's Vigil and was going to scout around the new (to me) zone and see what there was to do when this elite dragon attacked me. It went a lot better than I expected (for me)!

Should guild rankings be changed to more meaningful names?

Yes -- the monkey ranks don't mean much to me, even though they're funny
