Crazy Epic Drops for Tueur

dual wieldOk, so the night started out with me wanting to push to 44 on my warrior, Tueur. I had a ton of quests to do in Gadgetzan, 1/2 a level to go and some fresh gear from my previous run in Zul Farak with Cristia, Testudo and Zorlocky.

As Egaenil and I ran around doing some of the world quests, I leveled and unlocked a few more quests in ZF, so he kindly offered to take me through again. After the first run, I managed to get Sang'thraze the Deflector, and once we saw that, we reset the instance and went after Jang'thraze the Protector, which miraculously dropped on our first try! I can't use them both until I hit 45, which should be some time Thursday, but I think I'll re-spec to Fury to try out some dual wielding fun. :D

Voice chat coming in 2.2.0

:D  Awesome.

Coming in 2.2.0: Integrated voice chat.

Tigerclaw, who I've never heard of either-- is he a dev? He says he's "in a whole other building than the CMs"-- has bad news for all of those Teamspeak and Ventrilo hosts. Apparently come 2.2.0, you won't need to run any extra programs, as players will be able to speak to each other via the normal client. Tigerclaw also says a PTR for the patch is upcoming, but he definitely does work for Blizzard: he doesn't give any clues at all as to when this might happen.

70!

Doodiehead Level 70I finally managed to get Doodiehead to 70 :)  My /played was 17 days, which reflects the much more casual pace i went at, compared to a /played time of 11 days to level 60.  All in all, not bad :)

"Tier 5" Weapons Screenshots Posted!

Weapons aren't actually part of the tier 5 sets in the sense that they contribute to your set bonus, but they share the same look. Boubouille at MMO Champion compiled and posted them here.

I think the sweetest looking one is the priest's staff, and then followed by the rogue dagger. Very cool stuff!

Interesting Quest

I've moved the body of this post into the "Read More" section of this post, as I discuss a REALLY fun quest that you may want to experience for yourself w/o me spoiling it for you.

Edit: I can't get that working for now -- so click the thumbnail at your own risk!!!!11!eleven!!

I've included a picture, too -- it's unlike anything I've experienced in my 2.5 years of playing.

Great job, Blizz :)

Screenshot 042207 172705In the Outlands, there's a strange quest you have to complete that requires you to post at least five poles down on the ground and stand in the resulting beams of energy.

The catch is that the area is (of course) filled w/ monsters, the poles can't be within a specific distance of one another, and that they only last a few minutes.

It took a little bit of creative mob-avoidance and a good deal of outright killing to get this done, but it was well worth it.

Gold Farmers

SpamFirst:  a disclaimer.  I haven't logged into Pragma for a while, so it took 30 days to build up this much spam.

I'm somewhat torn on this issue.  I can appreciate people wanting the option to buy gold, and selling gold has it's own appeal, too.  What I object to is the in-game mail spam.

I don't mind whispers -- those are easily ignored.  I don't have to do anything for them to go away, and they don't inconvenience me.

In-game mail irritates me because I have to open the mail, then click delete.  For a small number of messages, it's not that big a deal.  When you get to a full screen of them, it gets my panties in a bunch.  I use the CT mass mail mod, which will automatically open, detach and delete mail attachments, but I'm not sure if it works on just letters.

Site Categories

I did a little clean-up on the site categories listing.  Some have been moved around, others have been added/subtracted, and some of the "related" information has been configured.

The benefit of marking things as related (i marked the healing classes as related, for instance) is that I've now taken advantage of them by adding the "Similar Links" block along the left-hand side, so that we can now see other stories that might interest you :)

Enjoy!

Sunken Temple Gang(stas)

Sunken Temple PartyWe all lined up for a pose before our big fight with Eranikus, a level 55-ish elite dragon in the Sunken Temple.

Luckily for the rest of us, Wart locked Eranikus down in place while we did as much damage as possible, with Penutty healing like mad.

Great job, team. :)
